Beams shortened to the required size

K&G Welding completed this commercial job for Hale Building Company at a Fort McClellan-area jobsite. Existing steel beams needed to be shortened to the size required for the project.

Cutting, plate preparation and refitting

The photographs show the steel beams staged and marked for modification, cut beam ends and removed plates, and the shortened sections prepared for refitting. The plates were cleaned, refitted and welded back onto the modified beams.

Close views document the completed bracket and end-plate details, followed by photographs of the finished shortened beams.

Quoting commercial steel modifications

Commercial requests should identify the number of pieces, the required modifications and the site location. Include photographs, dimensions and any supplied drawings or specifications so the cutting, fitting and welding scope can be reviewed.

Site access, handling arrangements and scheduling requirements should be discussed before work is confirmed. K&G Welding's physical shop is in Piedmont; Fort McClellan and nearby Anniston are served through scheduled mobile work.

Hale Building Company is named to identify this completed project. This example does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or an ongoing affiliation.
