When an off-the-shelf part does not fit, K&G Welding provides custom steel fabrication around your measurements and intended use. We fabricate one-off items, replacement pieces, frames, brackets, grates, and other steel projects for homeowners and businesses at our Piedmont, Alabama shop.
Reference photos, sketches, drawings, dimensions, and plans are helpful for preparing an accurate quote. Custom work is reviewed for material needs, labor, finish, installation requirements, and how the completed piece will be used.
A useful starting point for a made-to-fit steel part
You do not need a finished drawing to ask about a new steel item. Send a sketch or description with the overall length, width, height and quantity. Explain what the piece will do and how it will attach to the existing equipment, frame or property. Photos and drawings are helpful references, but they are optional for a custom fabrication quote.
For a replacement grate, ash pan, bracket or frame, show the opening or mounting area as well as the old part. Include bolt-hole spacing, clearance and steel thickness if known. Tell K&G Welding which measurements are confirmed and which are estimates so the fit can be discussed before fabrication.
From a one-off bracket to commercial replacement pieces
K&G Welding fabricates steel items for homeowners, farms, businesses, contractors and property managers. Requests can include brackets, mounting plates, frames, grates, ash pans and replacement components. Include the number of pieces and any finish or installation requirements so those details can be reviewed with the scope.

Piedmont shop fabrication or work at your site
K&G Welding's only physical shop is in Piedmont, Alabama. Smaller transportable items can be reviewed for shop work, with a $75 shop minimum and an arranged drop-off. Projects that need cutting, fitting or welding at the installation location can be reviewed for mobile service.
Choose the service that fits your project in the quote form. For mobile work, send the exact location and access details. The $200 local mobile minimum includes normal approved-area travel and setup; extended-distance travel and setup are included in the individual quote. Fabrication is steel work only, with no aluminum welding.
